
Marie-Odile is an animal scientist dealing with Livestock Farming Systems (PhD thesis in 2014), and researcher at INRAE (National Institute for Research in Agriculture, Food and the Environment), UMR Mediterranean and Tropical Livestock Systems (Selmet) at Montpellier. She studies transformations in livestock systems and related changes in their performance (technical, economical, flexibility, resilience, etc.) in situations of uncertainty and modifications in their activities (organization of livestock sectors and products markets, predation, etc.). Her work is carried out in French pastoral and agropastoral lands and involves monitoring and interviews with farmers. Marie-Odile founded and is co-animator of UMT-Pasto, a partnership among research institutes, higher education establishments and technical institutes dealing with pastoralism in France.
